a new favorite. scentsy alternative.

i recently found these yankee candle quickscent refills at target on clearance.  i don't own a yankee quickscent.. but i sure am making good use of these refills in my scentsy!  the wick is removable and it's the perfect little size.

i already cleaned one target out of these (sorry neighbors).  but keep an eye out for these, they're cheap and smell fantastic.

icy weather.

here is what our neighborhood (and most of salt lake city) looked like yesterday. we had freezing rain yesterday.  last night on the drive home from work i had jared pull over so i could see how thick the ice was on top of all of the snow.  it was about 1/3-1/2 inch thick.  every area of snow now looks like an ice skating rink!

flowers. almost.

no blooms yet.  but they sure are trying!  thank you to my sweet sister, dori, for the narcissus and my sweet mom for the amaryllis.  i love this time of year when we get to enjoy these.  i'll share photos when they finally bloom.

here's what our neighborhood looks like right now!  i snapped these on my phone while jared drove me to work this morning.  craziness.  stop snowing already.

jared and i should be snowed in in a secluded mountain cabin right now.  yep.  that sounds about right.  happy winter everyone.

we had a chill new year's eve at home, then went to one of our favorite restaurants, porcupine grill, tonight. so yummy. we had a wonderful 2012 and are so grateful for our many blessings. here's to more adventures in 2013!
