music monday time!!! it feels like it's been a while since i've featured a song on here. and typically, i take time to consider my song of choice. but today, twin sister's "i want a house" is all i can listen to.

I was very fortunate enough to get to spend the last few days with my wonderful family in phoenix. phoenix is awesome. hot... and awesome. it was hard being there without our sweet Kirby, but it was great getting to spend time with everyone. really really great.

first, an update on my boy... kirby passed away wednesday morning. I still don't want to talk about it with anyone because I break down every time I do. thank you so much for everyone's sweet prayers and kindness. I will be taking a last minute and much needed trip to AZ to see my dear family. the passing of our sweet boy definitely stirred up any desires to visit since I hadn't been home in so long.. I only regret not going home sooner.

second, jared and I had a fantastic road trip to WA and OR. we visited his family for his little sister's wedding and it was wonderful getting to see everyone. we had a great time and wish we could see everyone there more often. while in WA, cousin Ben convinced us to take a little detour home and spend an extra couple of days visiting our oregon family. I am so glad we did. some of my most significant childhood memories are our oregon summer vacations - - i LOVE oregon. we spent some fantastic time with family and were spoiled enough to stay at ben & amber's fabulous new home! we were awful taking photos and failed to take any with jared's family or with ben & amber... but here are some that we did capture..

no three tangent tuesday for me today. Jared and I just rolled into SLC from our road trip to WA and OR... and all I wanted to do was keep going to AZ. our family dog is very, very sick, which may not seem like a huge deal, but he is our baby. from the ongoing reports I'm receiving from my mom, things are not looking good and it's hard to be hopeful that he'll recover. please, pray for our sweet Kirby and our family. this sweet boy is a member of our family and we want him around!

Jared and I have been on a road trip that started in the tri-cities, wa for Jared's darling sister's wedding and we found ourselves in portland visiting my wonderful family there. (i LOVE portland). Jared and I are staying at Ben & Amber's fabulous new house and having a blast with them. today we spent the day downtown and stopped by the food carts for lunch. one particular cart was blaring music and was playing this song by rick astley. it was hilarious to see the young, hip, bearded portlanders inside rocking out to this song. loved it. enjoy this classic favorite!!

music monday! today's song is fantastic. "pumped up kicks" by foster the people. I CANNOT hold still when I hear this song. it is not physically possible for me to do so.

I must say... when I first heard this song I watched the video, and for some reason, I enjoy the song much much more just listening to it, not watching the video. so, if you want... just listen, don't watch. just my recommendation.

these kids are playing in SLC tomorrow! we'll see if I make it.

heaven. in a taco.

I'm always on the lookout for a great fish taco... they are hard to find! well, here's some news... we found an amazing fish taco in Utah!! for all of you CA folks who have access to Wahoo's fish tacos, you're very lucky. but now we've discovered Lone Star Taqueria. a co-worker of mine suggested it to me and it was amazing. we both got fish tacos and shared some INCREDIBLE nachos. not even kidding... if you want to have some great grub, call me. Jared and I will meet you at Lone Star. enough? ok. it's amazing, that's all.
